Utah Innovation Awards 2014 & 2016

UT Innov Award Finalist 2014We were pleased to be named as a Finalist in the Mechanical Systems/Chemicals/Manufacturing category in 2014, and then a Winner in the same category in 2016. An article on the 2014 results noted that "the M-Vac System is improving the way investigators gather [DNA] evidence," and also that "The M-Vac has already proven useful to investigators. Last year, it was used to extract DNA from a rock that was used as a murder weapon in Wasatch County, leading to an arrest and the closure of an 18-year-old cold case."

Utah Innovation Awards 2016The Utah Innovation Awards is a program that has been recognizing Utah's "vibrant community of innovators — from startups to established companies — and their breakthrough creations" since 2002. Their nominees "undergo a strict evaluation process by peers and leaders from the state's business, civic, and academic communities. Pioneering innovations ... are judged on their novelty, market need, economic impact, and disruption of the status quo." Dozens of "experts from Utah's private industry, government and academic communities" are appointed to committees which review the nominees and vote on "winners and finalists in each of the program's eight categories."

It is gratifying to be recognized by our peers and to be considered a part of such a distinguished Utah community of business leaders and pioneers. We hope to continue to provide value to our state both in the justice system and the economy.
